In an unexpected turn of events, Nigerian rap icon Phyno transitioned from performer to peacemaker on Easter Sunday, interrupting his headlining concert to address the high-profile legal battle between activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) and crypto businessman Linus Williams, popularly known as Blord.

The moment occurred during “The Phyno Experience” at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja. Phyno paused his set to invite VDM onto the stage, where he made a public plea for the activist to drop his case against Blord in the interest of unity.

Blord is currently remanded in custody, with his detention expected to last until April 27, following allegations of identity theft and operating a Ponzi-style scheme via his Ratel app. The feud between the two escalated after VDM publicly questioned the veracity of Blord’s claims regarding a ₦500 million gift to comedian Carter Efe.

“We need unity,” Phyno told the hushed crowd, urging both parties to find a path toward reconciliation. The intervention culminated in a viral moment as VDM and Phyno shared a hug on stage to the cheers of thousands of fans.

While VDM has not formally confirmed a withdrawal of the charges, the public nature of the appeal has placed immense pressure on the activist to soften his stance. Meanwhile, Blord’s social media remains active from behind bars, recently promoting a 400 plot real estate project in Anambra as his legal team prepares for the upcoming court date.
