The suspect, our correspondent learnt, was nabbed by police detectives attached to the ‘B’ Division, Awka, the state capital.
The police in Anambra State have arrested a 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Alagba, for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl, who is deaf and dumb.
The incident took place on Amoko Road, Ifite, Awka.
The suspect, our correspondent learnt, was nabbed by police detectives attached to the ‘B’ Division, Awka, the state capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He said the victim had been taken to hospital for medical examination, while investigation was ongoing on the matter.
Mohammed said:-
“The suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old deaf and dumb girl of the same address, while the victim’s mother was away.
“The scene was visited by police detectives and the victim was taken to hospital for medical examination and the case is under investigation.”
