‘We Will Respect Hazard If He Leaves Chelsea’- Azpilicueta

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta says the players will respect Eden Hazard’s decision if he decides to leave the club.

Azpilicueta insists that Hazard is currently focused on his next big Chelsea assignment – the Europa League final against Arsenal in Baku on 29 May.

Hazard has enjoyed another superb season at Stamford Bridge but has only a year left on his contract, and Real Madrid are understood to be confident of signing him this summer.

The Belgium international says he has told Chelsea where he thinks his future lies and that he expects his future to be resolved after the Arsenal game.

Azpilicueta told Sky Sports:

“Obviously Eden is a very important player for us.

“We arrived here at the same time and obviously we want him to stay with us – but we have to respect his decision.

“He is a Chelsea player and his mind is only doing well with Chelsea and on lifting the trophy in Baku – and then we will see.”
