Collaborations in the Nigeria music industry can never be over emphasized.

Why is this so?

Having collaboration with another big artiste leads to lots of benefits such as stronger fan base where the fans of artiste A get to love artiste B while the fans of artiste B get to love artiste A.

Other benefits of collaborations are:-

1. Collaboration allows you to be adventurous and explore new ideas.
2. Collaboration provides you with a sounding board on the music project.
3. Collaboration can push you to think big, to think beyond your type of music as a result of the exposure you get from working outside your field or the artiste’s usual limitations.
4. Gain more knowledge. New knowledge impacts directly or indirectly, you get to learn from others on collaborative music projects.
5. Working with others tends to bring about a performance boost.

But when we look at the same music sector we find out that some big artistes have refused to have a collaboration with each other, maybe ‘cus they feel they have gotten to that height they need nobody again to sing with or maybe feeling other wise.

On the long we can’t really base our conclusion on that because we still have A-list artistes till today having strong collaboration and doing great.

Artistes such as Olamide and Phyno, Ycee and Falz, Chinko Ekun and Zlatan, Burna Boy and Zlatan, and a whole lot of big and well known artistes.

One major collaboration the world have been wanting to see for a very long time is that between Davido and Wizkid.

These are the giants of music when you come to Africa, but still they have refused to have a music project together.
