Many of us understand economics as easy as demand and supply but have you ever wondered where the money you spend come from? If it is truly yours if you have to spend it?
Well, I am not here to explain it better to you, In fact, I am here to confuse you more. Let me paint a scenario:
One day, A tourist comes to the only hotel in a debt-ridden town of Lagos.
He lays down a 100 dollar note on the table and goes to inspect the rooms.
Hotel owner takes the note and rushes to pay the butcher that sold him meat.
The butcher runs to pay the Aboki that sold him the cow.
The Aboki rushes to pay his supplier from the North.
The supplier runs to pay the prostitute who in these hard times gave her services on credit.
The prostitute then runs to pay off her debt to the hotel owner for the rooms she rented for her clients.
Hotel owner then lays the 100 dollar note back on the counter.
The tourist comes down, takes his money and leaves as he did not like the rooms.
As you might have noticed, no one earned anything but that group of people are now without debt and looks to the future with a lot of optimism.
And that is how the world is doing business today.
Who do you think is the real owner of your money?
