Arsene Wenger Blast Monkey Chants Directed To Black Footballers (See What He Said)

Arsene Wenger has slammed the “scandalous” racial abuse footballers still find themselves subjected to.

The legendary Arsenal boss has spoken out following the latest ugly incident involving Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku after he was abused against Cagliari.

Lukaku was subjected to monkey chants as Inter ran out 2-1 winners.

The abuse suffered by Lukaku comes after both Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford were targeted by racists on social media.

Wenger has called on clubs to do their best to force racists away from stadiums.

He told beIN SPORTS:

“It’s scandalous. Sport has one huge advantage, no matter where you come from, who you are, what your name is or what is your colour, if you’re good enough you play.

“The values that are in sport should be represented everywhere.”

On tackling the problem, the Frenchman added: “I find it absolutely horrendous and it needs to be fought, but how do you do it?

“Do you interrupt a game? I don’t think so – because it becomes an easy tool to be used to interrupt the games without having any end effect.

“I believe with all the things we have available now it’s easy to isolate people and punish them after.
