Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State yesterday ordered immediate shut down of all illegal gas stations in the state to avert any possible fire deserter.
Umahi, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nweze, said the closure of the gas stations was necessary followed the gas expulsion in Kaduna State.
He further said that the action was to forestall possible outbreak of fire in this dry season and to ensure that health safety and environment regulation of Ebonyi State conforms with the national and international best oil and gas field practices.
