A Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Thursday remanded a 52-year-old woman, Adijat Lukuman, for allegedly stealing some jewelries.
The prosecutor, Olayiwola Rasaq informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 13, 2020, at Ilesa Garage area of Osogbo metropolis.
He added the property belongs to one Titilayo Adekunle, with a worth of N40,000, saying the offence committed contravenes and punishable under section 390 and 249 cap 34 vol ll, law of Osun State 2002.
The accused person however admitted guilty to the 2-count charge levelled against her by the police
Her counsel, Ibrahim. A. Imran prayed the court to temper justice on her client with mercy.
In her judgment, the Magistrate, Mrs. Risikat Olayemi ordered that the accused person should be remanded at a police custody, as she adjourned the case till January 30, 2020.
