Ex-INEC Chairman, Iwu Says The US Is Testing His Proposed Drug For Curing Coronavirus

The United States of America have begun tests on a ‘chemical compound’ isolated by Prof. Maurice Iwu, ex-Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, as a possible cure for coronavirus, Dr Ogbonanya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology has said.

Recall Naija News reported earlier that Iwu had allegedly found a cure for the novel Coronavirus COVID-19 which has claimed over 3,000 lives globally.

Iwu was said to have made the disclosure while briefing the Minister of State for Health, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora and other government top officials in Abuja on Monday.

Reacting today, Onu dismissed reports that Iwu had found a cure for the disease, explaining that his initial finding was that the compound could cure SARS.

Onu said, “They are testing it in the US to confirm whether this could be a cure for Covid -19 or SARS.”
