Canada has recorded its first death from COVID-19.
Naija News learnt health officials in the westernmost province of British Columbia confirmed the death of the man.
According to a report from the health officer the late victim is a senior residing at an elderly care facility.
Canada has recorded at least 71 confirmed or presumed coronavirus cases. Most are in the most populated province, Ontario, or in British Columbia.
Meanwhile, in a related development, The republic Malta has stopped all travel links with Italy after confirming its fourth coronavirus case since Saturday.
