

Popular Islam Cleric, Alhaji Taofeeq Akeugbagold’s twins who were abducted few days ago in Ibadan, Oyo State, have reportedly been released.

Their farther confirmed their release in a Facebook post on Sunday morning.
He said his toddlers were released early Sunday at 05:30am after eight days with the kidnappers.
He wrote: “ALHAMDULILLAH! AT 5.30AM OF SUNDAY 3RD MAY, MY ABDUCTED TWIN KIDS ARE RELEASED TO ME BESIDE A BUSH AFTER 8DAYS IN AN UNKNOWN LAND. THANKS TO U ALL FOR FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT, JAZAKUMULLAHU KHAIRAN. ABERE MI BO SINU OKUN, OLOUN YO PADA FUN MI.”
Akeugbagold was, however, silent on whether any ransom had been paid. Although later on Saturday he had confirmed that the kidnappers had been in contact and were demanding about N55 million for their release – an amount he said he could not afford.
He pleaded for them (kidnappers) to show understanding on the current situation in the country in making their demands.
