5 Popular Nigerian Pastors Who Ended Up With Failed Marriages

Nigeria is a very religious country and more than anything else we have a good number of powerful men of God.

This powerful men of God, although very powerful are not without flaws and they have at some point made mistakes or experienced mistakes with their marriages and had a need to end it.

Scripture definitely communicates that marriage is a lifelong commitment. Jesus described the relationship between husband and wife this way in Matthew 19:6: “They are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate”.

Without further ado, we take a look at some men of God who have divorced their wives or vice-versa.

1.  Chris Oyakhilome

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is the founder and Reverend of Loveworld Ministry popularly known as Christ Embassy.

The man of God and his former wife, Anita got divorced after 22 years of marriage after she filed for a divorce in London over alleged infidelity.

2. Chris Okotie

Reverend Chris Okotie is another powerful man or God who’s the founder of Household of God church.

The glamour man of God in 2012 divorced his former wife, Stephanie Henshaw after they were married for four years over irreconcilable differences.

3. Chris Okafor

Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle ministry is another man of God with a failed marriage.

In 2012, his former wife, Bessem who’s the  mother of their four children left their home and hasn’t returned to it since.

I’m 2014, she accused him of assault and even shared photos of where she claimed to have allegedly been beaten by the man of God.

4. Pastor Ituah Ighodalo

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo was one of the renowned provincial pastors of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo was asked to leave the church for remarrying another woman right after he got divorced from his former wife.

Ighodalo was earlier married to Lucy-Ann Summer whom he divorced. He later got married to former Miss Lux, Ibidunni Ajayi in 2007.

5. Pastor Joshua Iginla

Popular Abuja-based pastor, Joshua Iginla is the Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly.

In 2019, he made a shocking confession when he revealed that himself and his wife Yemisi, both had children out of wedlock.

The powerful man of God said when his wife brought an illegitimate child into their home, he forgave her, but that she refused to forgive him when he had his own child with another woman.

They have since gotten divorced.
