See The Two Nigerians In Africa’s Top Seven Most Valuable Players

The CIES football observatory released its latest list of top100 most valuable players in Europe’s top five leagues with Kylian Mbappe leading the way.

The Paris Saint Germain star has an estimated value of €259.2m which is 65m more than Raheem Sterling who is ranked second.

Jadon Sancho (€179.1m), Trent Alexander Arnold (€171.1m), and Marcus Rashford (€152.3m) round up the top five.

Africa is also well represented in the list, and in this article, Soccernet picks out the top seven most valuable African players.

Mohamed Salah (€144.9m)

The Liverpool star is Africa’s most valuable star and also ranks sixth in the top 100, which is not a surprise given his performances since he joined Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Egypt international’s 16 goals have been vital in Liverpool’s mission to win their first league title in 30 years.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are just two wins away from sealing their first Premier League trophy, and that’s partly down to Salah’s performances.  The former Fiorentina star has moved from being a Chelsea flop to one of the world’s best players.

Sadio Mane: (€139.2m)

Three Liverpool stars are in the top ten, and Sadio Mane is one of them. The Senegal international has an estimated value of 139.2m to rank seventh in the top 100.

Although Salah’s importance at Liverpool can never be questioned, Sadio Mane has arguably been the Reds best player this season.  The former Southampton has bailed out Jurgen Klopp’s side anytime the team needs a little bit of inspiration.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but it’s going to take a big offer even more than his estimated value to convince Liverpool.

Achraf Hakimi (€79.0m)

Hakimi is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund’s from Real Madrid, and he has been one of the best players under Lucien Favre this season.

The Morocco star has played as a right-back and as an unorthodox right-winger for Dortmund and has excelled in both roles.

Hakimi currently has an estimated value of €79.0m, and he is now seen as the best right-back in the world along with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold.

Nicolas Pepe (73.1M)

Pepe is currently Africa’s most expensive player after Arsenal paid a club-record fee of €80.00m to sign him from Lille last season.

However, he’s failed to hit his Lille heights at Arsenal with just six goals in 32 appearances for the Gunners this campaign.

Nonetheless, despite his struggles in his first season at the Emirates, Pepe is still one of Africa’s most valuable player on the continent.

Victor Osimhen (€64.3)

While Pepe is still trying to find his feet at Arsenal, the man brought in to replace him, although not directly, has had no problems at Lille.

Osimhen joined Lille from Royal Charleroi for just €12m has seen his value increase more than five times the money Les Dogues paid for him.

The 21-year-old has been a revelation in his first season in France, and he’s currently being courted by Europe’s top clubs.

Osimhen is currently valued at €64.3m after an exceptional season which saw him score 18 times in 38 games for Lille.  It’s not known yet if he’ll still be at the club next season, but any move will be for big money.

Ismaila Sarr (€62.0m)

The 22-year-old Senegal star is a surprise name on the list as he’s still adapting to the rigours of the Premier League.

Sarr joined Watford from Rennes for a club-record fee of €30.0m, but he’s yet to justify his hefty price with just five goals in 19 Premier League games. His top moment came when he scored in Watford’s stunning 3-0 win over Liverpool back in February.

Wilfred Ndidi (€49.5m)

Nigeria currently have one of the most exciting young squads in the world right now, which is why it’s not a surprise that two of their players are on the list.

Ndidi’s profile has always been on the rise since he joined Leicester from Genk in 2017. This season, he has been key to Leicester’s pursuit for a top-four finish.

The Foxes are on course to play Champions League football next season, and that’s down to the performances of Ndidi.

The 23-year-old is the gel that holds the team together and makes them tick. Ndidi has a transfer value of €49.5m and has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium.
