Nigeria must raise the age of marriage to 18 — Banky W

Nigerian singer, Bankole Wellington aka Banky W has urged lawmakers in Nigeria to raise the age of marriage to 18years.

He made this public in a statement he posted on his twitter page on Friday, July 10. Banky W wrote;

Some Nigerians try to hide behind religion as the reason why they should be allowed to marry children. But if Saudi Arabia – the kingdom, the headquarters i.e Mecca, can raise the age of marriage to 18 (because it’s the right thing to do) then Nigeria has no excuse.
