The much anticipated Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) season 5 edition themed ‘Lockdown’ has commenced with 20 housemates.
Earlier this month, the organisers had announced that selected contestants for the 2020 edition were placed on quarantine on Wednesday, July 1st, 2020.
In a press briefing, they said over 30, 000 entries were received and after verification and online sorting, the selected housemates have begun quarantine, in a bid to adhere with COVID-19 guidelines.
Unlike the previous editions, MultiChoice had revealed that the winner of the 5th edition goes home with bigger grand prize of N85 million and N30 million for 30 lucky fans.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed as we observe the dramas, intrigues and romance in this season.

1. Ozoemena “Ozo” Chukwu

He is a 27 year-old consultant and entrepreneur is from Imo State. One of his greatest achievements is working with a UEFA Federation in Europe. According to him, “It was a job I took great pride in and enjoyed doing”.
On the skill or habit he acquired during COVID-19 lockdown, he said “Learning to stay without loud music.”
2. Vee

Born Victoria Adeyele, she is a 23-year-old musician based in Lagos, Nigeria. She was born and raised in London and moved to Lagos almost a year ago to begin her music career where she has already made great strides.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: She said “Definitely sleeping for hours on end.”
Her achievement: Performing at the Palmwine Music Festival last year.
3. Lilo

23-year-old Boluwatife Aderogba is a dietitian from Lagos, Nigeria. Also an entrepreneur, she describes herself as “a product of God’s grace”.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I learnt how to sew.”
Biggest achievement: “Starting my own brand.”
4. Prince

Nelson Enwerem Prince (24) is a graduate of pure physics from the University of Calabar and an entrepreneur from Abia state. He is into includes modelling, fashion designing and interior decoration. His other interests are sports and reading about ancient religions and African history. He also believes that a good name is better than sacrifices
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Trading forex.”
Biggest achievement: “Winning Mr. Nigeria and competing in the Mr. World competition. It earned me great respect in my village and honour amongst the elders.”
5. Trikytee

35-year-old Timmy Sinclair is a creative artist, from Bayelsa and resides in Lagos resident.Tricky Tee considers himself a storyteller who uses the mediums of film, and music to express himself. He believes that nobody is guaranteed tomorrow and making best use of one’s present life.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I now do push ups every day thanks to lockdown.”
Biggest achievement: “Biggest achievement was winning the best director at the NYSC cultural and sports festival in Abuja 2013 for the best stage drama.”
6. Lucy

30-year-old Lucy Essien who is an entrepreneur from Lagos believes in fairy tales and proclaims herself to be a simple girl
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Making parfait, having tea three times a day, and being without my phone.”
Biggest achievement: “My grill business, getting into Big Brother Naija, graduating with a 2.1 and not falling pregnant after all these years.”
7. Kiddwaya

Self-employed Terseer Kiddwaya is a 27-year-old native of Benue State. Whose participation in the BBNaija season 5 gets him anticipating a better and crazier 2020. According to him, he is confident, good looking, ambitious, a daredevil who is highly motivated.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I can go a long time without no phone or TV.”
Biggest achievement: “Getting into health and fitness has been my biggest achievement. I used to be quite chubby, so I transformed my body and I have been consistent ever since.”
8. Dorathy
Dorathy Bachor is a 24-year-old entrepreneur from Lagos who believes she is the only one who should make you smile.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I can sleep for more than four hours. I also discovered the ability to adjust to a new environment quickly.”
Biggest achievement: “SHOPFORME – the biggest procurement company in Nigeria … Amen.”
9. Praise

28-year-old Praise Nelson is a dancer from Enugu who’s not new to fame or competing, he was a winner at the K-Pop World Festival, South Korea 2015 and won third place at a national Dance Competition in 2010. He is also a fitness and personal trainer and a certified Latin ballroom expert.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: Making more time to read.
Biggest achievement: “Winning Korean Pop World Festival Changwon in 2015.”
10. Wathoni

29-year-old Florence Wathoni Anyansi is proud mother of one and a fashion entrepreneur who runs a fashion business and a parenting blog. She speaks and writes in Swahili fluently.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown:“I started eating chocolates more than usual, praying with the rosary three to five times (no jokes), and a lot of thinking.”
On her biggest achievement is “Providing for my son, being chosen to work in Julius Berger amongst graduates (I was an undergraduate then), giving birth naturally to a 4.3kg baby.”
11. Ka3na

Kate Jones is a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Rivers, Nigeria. She describes herself as a strong woman who wants more from life with a dream to be famous and own the biggest luxury fashion brand in the world.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “The new habit I learned was sleeping naked and reading the bible.”
Biggest achievement? “My several properties and my daughter.”
12. Tochi

28-year-old Tochukwu Okechukwu Tochi, a native of Imo state, is a rapper and real estate agent who lives and breathes entertainment. He confesses to being clumsy on some days. He believes in playing hard and working harder.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Making envelopes with just paper.”
Biggest achievement? “Being independent and getting an education.”
13. Eric

24-year-old Eric Akhigbe describes himself as a fun, competitive sports, fitness enthusiast and a final year student at the University of Lagos. The native of Edo state describes himself as a shy person who takes his time to unveil his wild side.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Listening to my thoughts more carefully and analysing them deeply.”
Biggest achievement: Helping over 100 people achieve their fitness goals.
14. Brighto

Ezekiel Bright Osemudiame is a 29-year-old sailor and youngest of six children. He hails from Edo State and holds a degree in Marine Engineering from Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt with several other professional certifications. He also had a stint in the aviation sector. He considers himself an avid entertainment lover and a people’s person.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I learnt to pray more and the ability to tell what time it is.”
Biggest achievement: “I gained a scholarship to study abroad; I also got my third engineer license including other professional certificates.”
15. Erica

Born Ngozi Nlewedim, Erica is a 26-year-old actress and commercial model from London, England. She returned to Lagos after studying screen acting at the Met Film School in London.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I started reading motivational books and watching real estate sales videos on YouTube.”
Greatest achievement “Graduating from film school in London, producing my first short film with a team in Birmingham, and being in the movie, Hire a Woman.”
16. Kaisha

Born Aisha Umaru, Kaisha is a 25-year-old entrepreneur from Sokoto state who relies on a healthy diet and is God-fearing. She believes so much in striving harder without relenting.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Talking to myself. I didn’t know I could do that. It was weird but effective.”
Biggest achievement? When I finished my skincare line, I was really proud of myself.
17. Tolanibaj

27-year-old energetic Tolani Shobajo is a media personality Lagos state. She is sometimes called the life of the party. Perhaps, she will be the “Lambo” of the 5th edition. She enjoys dancing and cooking.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Eating a daily breakfast. I didn’t realise how important having breakfast is until now. It makes my day better.”
Biggest achievement: “After moving to Nigeria, I landed a job at one of the world’s leading music entertainment companies within four months. I guess simply following my dreams and instincts. I decided to relocate home without 100% clarity and overall, I am flourishing. I have shamed my doubters. I am still here in Nigeria, winning. Yay!”
18. Neo

Emuobonuvie Akpofure (26) is a ride-hailing app driver and a Delta State native who won’t hesitate to be Indaboski Bahose when it comes to issues concerning bullying and inequality.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “Sketching.”
Biggest achievement: “I won N 500 000 from a talent competition.”
19.Laycon

Olamilekan Agbeleshe with the nickname Laycon is a 26-year-old singer and rapper from Lagos. He’s a graduate of philosophy from the University of Lagos who started his musical journey at an early age and has now emerged as one of Nigeria’s most promising new school acts.
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “I acquired the habit of singing and reading my bible.”
Biggest achievement: “I’d say having my song ‘Fierce’ on MTV BASE Top ten charts for six months, still tops every other thing I have done.”
20. Nengi

Born Rebecca Hampson, Nengi is a 22-year-old entrepreneur from Bayelsa State, Nigeria. She is a former model and MBGN Top 5 contestant who loves learning new things, having fun, travelling, taking on new adventures, and being true to herself. She proclaims: “If you want the job done right, give it to a Capricorn. I give 110% of my energy and enthusiasm into everything I do.”
New habit or skill acquired during lockdown: “The ability to talk to myself and enjoy the conversation.”
Biggest achievement: “Getting my BSc. So many times, I could have dropped out, but I persevered.”
