The herdsmen that are ravaging the South and Middle Belt are the same ones that are butchering people in North West and North East – FFK

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has stated that the herdsmen ravaging the South East, South West, South South and the Middle Belt are same people butchering people in the North West and North East.

The former minister who noted that they are called herdsmen in the south and middle belt and bandits in the north, stated that they do not represent the Fulani but only themselves and those who sent them.

FFK added that he subscribes to the view that killer herdsmen should be given quit notices and apprehended, but don’t subscribe to the view that all Fulanis should be given quit notice anywhere in the country.

He tweeted;

The herdsmen that are ravaging the SW, SS, SE & MB are the same ones that are butchering people in the NW& NE. In the south& MB we call them herdsmen & in the north they call them bandits.They do NOT represent the Fulani: they represent only themselves & those who sent them

I subscribe to the view that killer herdsmen should be given quit notices& apprehended but I don’t subscribe to the view that ALL Fulanis should be given a quit notice anywhere in the country.We are ALL Nigerians & I will defend the right of a law-abiding Fulani to reside .in any part of the country as much as I would defend the right of an Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw or any other tribe to do same.

We must learn to separate the wheat from the chaff & to be our brothers keeper. We must not allow the actions of a few to make us hate an entire tribe.
