The Super Eagles attacker came off the bench to power the Lions to a fantastic away victory
Henry Onyekuru netted a second-half brace to help Galatasaray see off the challenge of Kayserispor with a 3-0 win at the Kadir Has Sehir Stadi on Saturday evening.
Galatasaray’s title challenge had wobbled in recent weeks after earning just one point from their last two wins and knew that anything shot of victory in Kayseri would see them lose ground on leaders Besiktas.
But Kayserispor were no pushovers having claimed six points from their last two games and came into the gameweek 30 clash full of confidence.
And it proved to be a closely fought battle in the opening half until Radamel Falcao broke the deadlock for Gala moments before the interval.
Still, the hosts remained in the game and had chances to equalise early in the second period. But things changed in the visitors’ favour after Onyekuru was introduced in the 68th minute.
The on-loan Monaco winger did brilliantly to connect well with a loose ball to make it 2-0 in the 81st minute before finding the back of the net again with two minutes left of regulation time.
