Police in Anambra State have arrested five persons suspected to be thugs mobilized to disrupt the election in the state.

According to a short text by the Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the men were arrested in Ihiala, and four pump action guns were recovered from them.

Ikenga said: “Five armed thugs were arrested in Ihiala, and four pump actions recovered.”

CP Aderemi Adeoye, who is heading the command’s personnel on election duty, was also quoted to have said that thuggery will not be allowed during the election.
