SUPER Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has shaken off his ailment and will be available for tomorrow’s AFCON 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final fixture against South Africa in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire.

The Napoli star had been a doubt after suffering from what was described as ‘abdominal discomfort’ and was left behind in Abijdan last night as the rest of the Super Eagles squad took the short flight to Bouake.

There was then some optimism today as he was cleared to travel and join the rest of his teammates in Bouake as they prepared for the match.

His readiness for the big match was then confirmed this evening by the Super Eagles media team as pictures of the 25-year-old in training was shared.

“Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday,” Super Eagles media officer Babafemi Raji said this evening in a statement made available to Naija Times.

“He has joined the team in Bouaké and has trained with the squad today.”

Although Osimhen has scored just one goal in his five matches at AFCON 2023, he has led the line in attack brilliantly and is crucial to Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro’s plans.

The semi-final clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will be held at Stade de la Paix in Bouake, kicking off at 6pm Nigerian time.
