The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) has urged the federal government to tackle the insecurity pervading the country and ensure that Nigerians are protected against bandits and kidnappers on rampage in the country.
The Secretary-General of the CSN Rev. Fr. Zacharia Samjumi; Assistant Secretary-General, Michael Banjo; Director of Mission and Dialogue; Joseph Nomhwange, National Director of Social Communications, Rev. Fr. Michael Nsikak Umoh, and Director, Pastoral Agents Department, Rev. Fr. Augustine Okochi, made the call on Wednesday in Abuja at a news conference.
Umoh said the situation in the country has deteriorated beyond description, citing the abduction and killing of a nursing woman, her kid and her mother who were executed while the infant was spared in Abuja.
Banjo on his part also urged the government to ensure the security of life and property in the country.
