The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Akwa Ibom State.

The suspects were arrested in an early morning sting operation at two different locations in the state.

The anti-graft agency said 21 of the all-male suspects were arrested in Eket, while the remaining 19 were picked up in Ikot Ekpene.

The Commission recovered a Toyota SUV XLE, nine laptop computers, 64 smartphones, one internet router and a smartwatch from the suspects.

It added that they will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
