The Senator representing Anambra South district, Ifeanyi Ubah, passed away on Saturday.

Ubah’s death comes as a rude shock to his family, friends and people in the political circles.

Here is what we know:

1. The 52-year-old is reported to have collapsed and died in London.

2. Ubah only left Nigeria for the UK two days ago to attend to his health issues.

3. Recall that the lawmaker defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from the Young Progressives Party, YPP, last year.

4. In September 2022, the CEO of Capital Oil, survived an assassination attempt that saw three of his police escorts shot dead.

5. The incident occurred at Enugwu Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. Ubah survived because he was in a bullet-proof car.

6. The lawmaker was set to contest in the next Anambra governorship elections.
