A Video shows the moment a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Unizik, fought a lecturer after he interrupted the video she was recording.
The student was dancing in a corridor in her department when a lecturer who needed to pass, tapped her and said, “Excuse me.”
The girl is seen eyeing the lecturer, identified as Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye from the Faculty of Arts, before saying, “Can you imagine? He just hit me.”
Another video shows the girl getting physical with the lecturer while students gathered and tried to intervene.
As she grabbed the lecturer, he lifted his hands up to show he was not touching her in any way.
A statement alleged to be from the lecturer narrating what transpired has been widely shared on WhatsApp groups in the school.
In the chats purported to be from the lecturer, it was stated that the lecturer heard the girl insult him after he passed, so he went back to see if she was one of his students.
He then allegedly reached for her phone, and the girl reacted by allegedly biting him on both arms.
Photos shared with LIB show the bite mark on the lecturer’s arm.
The girl accused of attacking her lecturer is a 300-level student of History and International Studies. She is also said to be the daughter of a female lecturer in the Engineering department at the same institution.
