Popular Catholic missionary priest, Father Kelvin Ugwu, has stated that Jesus has never made anyone rich. 

He made the statement amid the controversial fake testimony by Helen Loveth, who claimed to have purchased a N500 million house following a prophecy by Prophet Ebuka Obi, the founder of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, ZPMO.

DAILY POST reports that Loveth, who gave the fake testimony in February 2025, was spotted last week selling drinks in Enugu.

Speaking during the confrontation, she stated that she didn’t own a house but gave the testimony as an act of faith.

Reacting to the fake miracles and testimony controversies on his Facebook page, the Catholic priest tagged the gospel of Prophet Ebuka Obi on wealth as false, noting that “Jesus did not make anyone rich.”

He further described Ebuka Obi as a significant threat to the gospel of Christ.

While warning that the Church is not a place to claim wealth, he wrote:

“No prophecy makes anyone rich. The Church is not a place to claim wealth.

“Jesus didn’t make anyone rich. In fact, he told many rich people to sell everything they had and follow him. The gospel of Ebuka Obi on wealth is a false gospel. It is a get-rich-quick kind of gospel. Stop feeding yourselves with gibberish.”
