Victor Font, an ex-presidential candidate of Barcelona football club has slammed the club after the Catalan side announced another setback to their return to the Camp Nou.

Font is unhappy with the management of Barça, hitting out on them for giving fans unrealistic hopes about their return to their home ground.

Barcelona had on Friday, announced that it would not be possible for them to return to Camp Nou as earlier announced.

The LaLiga title holders were scheduled to mark their return to Camp Nou with the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 10.

However, a statement on the club’s website on Friday, said the plan has changed due to their inability to obtain the required license.

Reacting to the news via X, Font called out the club for repeatedly setting unrealistic deadlines.

“Incredible that, being the best club in the world, we make a fool of ourselves with constant unfulfilled promises,” he wrote.

“There’s no need to toy with the expectations of Barcelona fans in this way…”

He said this was another case of improvisation, wishful thinking by those in charge of the club.
