Madonna has pleaded with Pope Leo XIV to visit Gaza before “it is too late” to bring hope to the children suffering in the war-torn region. 

The conflict between Israel and Gaza, which erupted in October 2023, has resulted in devastating casualties.

In an update on July 29, the Hamas-run health minister pegged the death toll in Gaza at 60,034 while the number of people injured stands at 145,870.

In a recent Instagram post, the ace American singer emphasised the urgent need for the Pope’s intervention.

The 66-Year-Old hitmaker also highlighted the plight of Gaza’s children, describing them as belonging not just to Palestine but to the world.

Madonna pointed out that the Pope, as a globally respected spiritual leader, holds unique access to regions where others may be barred.

She called for the immediate opening of “humanitarian gates” to allow aid to reach innocent civilians, particularly children.

“Most Holy Father, please go to Gaza and bring your light to the children before it’s too late. As a mother, I cannot bear to watch their suffering. The children of the world belong to everyone,” she wrote.

“You are the only one of us who cannot be denied entry. We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save these innocent children. There is no more time. Please say you will go.”

Efforts to negotiate a ceasefire have repeatedly stalled due to conflicting demands.

Hamas insisted it will only release all hostages in exchange for a complete Israeli withdrawal and a permanent end to the war.

Meanwhile, Israel refused to agree to a ceasefire unless Hamas relinquishes power and disarms — a condition the militant group has rejected.
