The MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited, MEDL, has announced a planned power outage in parts of Enugu metropolis from Wednesday, October 22 to Thursday, October 31, 2025.

According to a statement by Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications, the outage will occur daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, carry out rehabilitation and reinforcement works at its New Haven Station.

Ezeh said the exercise will affect several 33KV feeders, including Kingsway Line 1 & 2, Emene Industrial Line 1 & 2, Thinkers Corner, Trans-Ekulu, Ugwuogo, and Ituku Ozalla.

Areas expected to be impacted include Emene, Abakpa, Trans-Ekulu, Thinkers Corner, Ugbo Nnebedum, 9th Mile, Shoprite, Golf Estate, Zoo Estate, Okpara Avenue, Abakaliki Road, CBN Quarters, Ngwo, Coal Camp, Uwani, Asata, Iva Valley, Centenary City, Ugwuaji, Amechi, Obeagu and surrounding communities.

The company appealed to customers for understanding, noting that the project is aimed at improving power supply quality in the affected areas.
