Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia says the process for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor for Father Adasu University, Makurdi is currently ongoing.

The clarification followed reports that Rev Fr Vitalis Torwel has been appointed as the new VC of the state-owned university.

The clarification was made in a statement issued by the governor’s media aide, Tersoo Kula.

“It must be completed and a public announcement of the new helmsman shall be made by the Visitor to the University, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

“At the moment, there is an Acting VC in place.

“The public is therefore to note and disregard any unfounded rumour,” the statement said.
