A renowned professor of mass communication at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Ladi Sandra Adamu, is dead at the age of 67.

Her death was confirmed on Wednesday by her colleague, Associate Professor Muhammad Hashim Suleiman, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, through a post on his official Facebook page.

According to reports gathered by DAILY POST, Prof. Ladi Adamu, who was the first female professor of broadcasting in Northern Nigeria, died after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.

Her passing has thrown the ABU community, particularly the Mass Communication Department, as well as her students and alumni, into deep mourning.

Prof. Ladi Adamu was born on January 17, 1958, and hailed from Plateau State, Nigeria.
