Arsenal legend Kanu Nwankwo has wished the Super Eagles of Nigeria the best of luck as they prepare to face DR Congo in Sunday’s FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff final in Morocco.
Kanu urged Eric Chelle’s men to rise to the occasion against DR Congo, stressing that Nigeria must be present at the 2026 World Cup.
The former Super Eagles captain made the remarks in a video post via his X account on Sunday evening.
DAILY POST reports that Nigeria and DR Congo head into the match after defeating Gabon and Cameroon, respectively, in the semi-final playoffs.
“Hello, this is Kanu Papilo, my country people, you know what it is. Nigeria vs DR Congo,” Kanu said.
“The boys are ready; you saw their last game. They made us proud. Let us all come out to support our dear Super Eagles. Pray for them, wish them all the luck, and I know they are going to do it. They have to be in the World Cup; Nigeria must be in the World Cup, but we all can support them. Let us pray for them. I wish them all the best, and I know the boys will deliver.”
