The Kano State Police Command has decorated 13 senior officers who were recently promoted to higher ranks.
The decoration took place during in a ceremony which held at the Police Officers mess in Kano.
This was contained in a statement signed by CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer on Monday.
According to the statement, the promoted officers include one Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), four Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), seven Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), and one Superintendent of Police (SP).
“Those promoted are DCP Muhammad Nuhu Digi, who moved from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police, and ACPs Musa Akawu, Ahmed Abdullahi, Abdullahi Usman, and Saleh Buba, who were promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police. Seven other officers were promoted to CSP, while one officer rose to the rank of SP,” Kiyawa added.
The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, congratulated the officers, saying their elevation was in recognition of their commitment, diligence, and professional conduct.
“This promotion is a call to higher responsibility. You are expected to uphold integrity and discipline while continuing to serve the public with dedication,” CP Bakori said.
He also praised the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for what he described as ongoing reforms and improved welfare packages for police officers.
