The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it has eliminated Abu al-Qassem Baba’iyan, the new head of the Military Office of Iran’s Supreme Leader and Chief of Staff of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.

In a statement via X on Sunday, the IDF said Baba’iyan was responsible for coordinating operations among various military bodies of the Iranian government.

According to the Israeli military, he played a key role in coordinating operational and emergency activities across Iran’s armed forces.

The IDF said the killing is part of a series of operations targeting senior Iranian officials since the start of “Operation Roaring Lion” and earlier military actions.

IDF wrote: “ELIMINATED: Abu al-Qassem Baba’iyan, the new Head of the Military Office of the Supreme Leader and the Chief of Staff of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters.

“Baba’iyan was responsible for coordinating between the Iranian terror regime’s various force employment organizations to execute operations and emergency operations.

“His elimination joins a series of eliminations of senior figures in the Iranian terror regime conducted by the IDF since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion and prior to it.”
