The lead talking drummer of King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Mr Ayankunle Ayanlowo, has appreciated the Fuji legend for reaching out to him after a fatal road accident along Ijebu-Ode-Ibadan road on the first Monday after the Eid-al-Adha festival.
Ayankunle, while responding to queries about his absence from K1’s live shows in the last two weeks, stated that he had an accident that affected his leg and chest, which made him stay in a private hospital for two weeks.
“I was coming from Ijebu-Ode on the first Monday after the Ileya festival week, and my commercial bus driver was trying to dodge some policemen on stop-and-search duty; unfortunately, he collided with a truck carrying granite.
“Many of the passengers sustained injuries, but thank God nobody died. I was rushed to a nearby hospital and was admitted there before being released last week to go home.
“I especially appreciate my boss, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, the Olori Omooba Akile Ijebu, Mayegun of Yorubaland, for his support during my stay at the hospital facility.
“He paid all the bills and sent me encouraging messages daily to hasten my physical and psychological recovery, may the Lord grant him long life and more grace.”
Ayanlowo promised to be back on stage soon, as his recovery has been smooth, saying many fans of the Fuji legend have reached out to him to know what caused his absence from live shows in the last two weeks.
