The Igbo expression behind “Ala Bekee”, commonly used in reference to life abroad or a foreign land, gives Nigerian singer Yemi Alade and Nigerian producer-artiste Don Jazzy a distinctly cultural starting point for their 2026 collaboration.
Yemi Alade brings her multilingual approach into the record, while Don Jazzy appears as a co-artist rather than being confined to a behind-the-scenes credit. Their pairing gives the song an interesting meeting point between two figures with long-established identities in Nigerian pop.
