The LoveWorld family is mourning the death of Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome, popularly known as “Big Mummy,” mother of the Founder and President of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Deaconess Angel died at the age of 88.

Born on March 6, 1938, the late matriarch was a respected figure within the LoveWorld community and was known for her longstanding relationship with the ministry and her role as a mother figure to many members.

She was married to the late Tim E. Oyakhilome, and their union was blessed with seven children, including Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Reverend Ken Oyakhilome and Pastor Linda Okocha.

Until her death, Deaconess Angel was based in Benin City, Edo State, where she remained closely connected to the LoveWorld family.

Her 88th birthday was marked by members of the ministry on March 6, 2026, with prayers and goodwill messages celebrating her life and legacy.

She had also received recognition for her contributions to the ministry, including a special commendation at the International Pastors’ and Partners’ Conference in appreciation of her service and support for the growth of LoveWorld.

Her death has cast a sombre mood over Christ Embassy and the wider LoveWorld family, where she was cherished as the mother of the ministry’s founder and respected as an elder and matriarch.

Members of the ministry and well-wishers are expected to continue to pay tribute to her life and legacy as the family makes arrangements for her final rites.
