Early in his Marlian Music chapter, Nigerian singer Zinoleesky linked up with Nigerian rapper Naira Marley for “Caro”, a 2020 single that introduced him formally under the label.
The song follows “Joromi” and tells the story of Caro, a woman whose interest in money eventually leads her elsewhere, only for the situation to turn against her. Naira Marley joins the narrative with his own verse while keeping its playful street character intact.
Rexxie produced the record, building it around an upbeat Afrobeats rhythm that gives Zinoleesky’s melodic delivery and Naira Marley’s conversational style enough room to work naturally together.
“Caro” arrived before later 2020 releases such as “Ma Pariwo” and the Chrome EP, placing it at an important early point in Zinoleesky’s rise under Marlian Music.
