40-Year-old Olamide Mojigbotoluwa Ehinfun-Adekunle has become one of the latest legal practitioners to attain the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), reportedly making her the youngest female lawyer to receive the prestigious title.
Ehinfun-Adekunle, a partner at Afe Babalola & Co., also known as Emmanuel Chambers, has over 15 years of legal experience. Her areas of practice include complex litigation, commercial dispute resolution, oil and gas, arbitration, election petitions, transactional law and regulatory compliance.
Born on June 25, 1986, in Kaduna State, she hails from Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Her interest in law reportedly began in childhood, influenced partly by stories her father told about politics in the old Western Region and the career of renowned lawyer Chief Rotimi Williams, popularly known as “Timi the Law”.

She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she studied between 2003 and 2009. She subsequently attended the Nigerian Law School from 2009 to 2010 before earning a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Trade Law from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, between 2011 and 2012.
She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the United Kingdom, with professional experience spanning litigation, commercial disputes and arbitration.
Before joining Afe Babalola & Co. as a partner in September 2013, Ehinfun-Adekunle worked at D. D. Dodo & Co. and the Nuhu Ribadu Campaign Organisation. In her legal practice, she has handled a range of matters and appeared before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee approved her elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on July 23, 2026. She was among 68 legal practitioners sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, on Monday, October 12, 2026, during the opening of the 2026/2027 legal year. Four women were among the newly elevated practitioners.

Several prominent figures have influenced her professional journey, including Aare Afe Babalola, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, Kehinde Ogunwumiju and Pastor R. A. Ogunwole. Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi has also celebrated her achievement and reportedly mentored her since they first met when she was a young law graduate around 2010 or 2011.
In an interview with The PUNCH following her elevation, Ehinfun-Adekunle identified delays in the justice system as one of the major challenges facing the legal profession. She explained that prolonged court proceedings place a financial burden on litigants and called for judicial financial autonomy, compliance with court orders, specialised commercial courts and measures to reduce the Supreme Court’s caseload.
Beyond her legal practice, she has stressed the importance of mentoring young lawyers, particularly women, and maintaining high standards of advocacy and professional conduct.
Her elevation to the Inner Bar marks a major step in her legal career and places her among the practitioners recognised for their contributions to Nigeria’s legal profession.
