It is clear that some Church doctrines and health care requirements differ in some ways. This is with regards to a now-viral video of a parent who had rejected an offer from people who wanted to help in giving their sick child, medical attention.
Popular activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, had recently shared a video of an interview with a parent who resides in Sapele, Delta state.
According to his details, their child, Precious is suffering from Hydrocephalus and needed a transfusion and possibly, surgery.
However, the father stated that in their Church ‘Jehovah Witness’, blood transmission is not allowed on their members.
Precious’ father, however, said that he is not against Harrison and his team going with the child, for treatment but that he will not accept blood transfusion on the child, noting that it’s against their belief.
When asked if they had taken the child to the Church for prayer, he said ‘Yes’ that they have tried their best.
Naija News understands that the 1 year and 7 months old Precious in a video shared looked pale and already almost giving up.
Meanwhile, in another news, Naija News had reported about a month ago that a 14-day-old baby has been saved by the Office of the Public Defender in Lagos State after the parents denied her of blood transfusion on religious grounds.
The baby’s name which was not mentioned was given birth to prematurely at a private hospital located in Surelere on December 18, 2019, to Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Onokpise of Abata Close, Orile-Iganmu.
