How Boko Haram Threw A Child Into A Burning Bus In Borno State – Ex-General

Former military governor of Lagos State, Brig-Gen Buba Marwa (rtd) has made a shocking revelation about Boko Haram killings in Nigeria.

The former military chief disclosed on Monday that he got information that the Boko Haram terrorists threw a child who was trying to escape back into a burning vehicle during their attack on Auno, Borno State, two weeks ago.

It will be recalled that Naija News previously reported that at least 30 people were killed while no less than 18 vehicles were also completely burnt when the insurgents launched an attack against travelling passengers in Auno, a town 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

However, Marwa, who appeared on Channels TV’s programme Sunrise Daily on Monday in his capacity as the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse, said the terrorists would probably have been operating under the influence of hard drugs.

He also noted that the menace of drug abuse should be tackled if Nigeria is to overcome its security challenges.

In his words, “Last week someone in Auno near Maiduguri mentioned to me that there was a woman in one of the buses burnt.

“She threw her child out, so that at least the child would survive, but the insurgents picked up the child and flung him back into the bus.

“What kind of depravity could that be unless somebody was completely out of his senses?

“So this is the root cause of most of our problems, including security, and must be tackled.”

Marwa further disclosed that the report submitted in October 2019 by his committee on tackling drug abuse in Nigeria has not been implemented as it is being reviewed by a second committee chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

He noted that the implementation of drug control measures will help Nigeria in overcoming its various security challenges.

“The drug control scourge in Nigeria, unless it is tackled, we are finished.

“Whether it is Boko Haram, banditry, kidnapping, they (hoodlums) all use drugs,” Marwa Noted.
