I did not buy any car when I served as Minister- Oby Ezekwesili replies Nigerians criticizing her for rebuking Lawmakers planning to purchase new vehicles

Former Minister of Education and also ex-Minister of Mineral Resources, Oby Ezekwesili, has stated that she never ordered for a new car when she was in office in both Ministeries. Ezekwesili stated this on her X handle in response to some Nigerians who have criticized her for lashing out at members of the National Assembly who have concluded plans to purchase new vehicles worth millions of Naira for each lawmaker.

A visibly angry Ezekwesili had taken to her X handle to lash out at the lawmakers, describing them as ‘’incorrigible Bunch of Lawbreakers”. Some Nigerians tackled her for calling out the lawmakers and went on to accuse her of also purchasing new vehicles when she took up position as Minister.

In her response, Ezekwesili said she never bought new cars and that when she assumed office, she asked the permanent secretary to fix the old vehicles used by her predecessors.
