Economic hardship may end Tinubu’s presidency in 2027 – Solomon Dalung

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has warned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu risks being voted out after just one term in office if his administration fails to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

Dalung, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), gave the warning in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune on Saturday.

He argued that both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed to deliver on good governance, thereby creating space for new political forces to rise.

“Tinubu may come to the conclusion that he should be preparing to return to Lagos by May 29, 2027,” Dalung said.

The former minister expressed concerns over worsening economic hardship, rising insecurity, and poor governance, stressing that citizens are increasingly dissatisfied and will soon demand a new political direction.

He also dismissed President Tinubu’s earlier remarks describing the ADC as a camp for “internally displaced politicians,” insisting the party is fast emerging as one of the strongest platforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The ADC is not just another minor opposition party. We are building a movement that will shock even the most doubtful Nigerians,” he declared, while hinting that the party is engaging stakeholders nationwide and will present credible candidates to challenge the current political order.
