Nigerian gospel minister Chioma Jesus collaborates with fellow Nigerian gospel singer Prinx Emmanuel on “Jesus is Life (JIL)”, a Christian music release centred on the significance of Jesus Christ.
The collaboration brings together two musicians from different generations of Nigerian gospel music. Chioma Jesus has built her ministry around indigenous praise and worship, while Prinx Emmanuel is recognised for making Christian messages accessible through contemporary Afro-gospel.
Their contrasting musical backgrounds are an important aspect of the partnership. Chioma Jesus is closely associated with Igbo-language gospel music, whereas Prinx Emmanuel regularly incorporates Nigerian Pidgin and contemporary African musical influences into his recordings.
For Chioma Jesus, the collaboration introduces another opportunity to connect with younger gospel listeners while maintaining her established Christian audience. Her longstanding recognition through songs such as “Bulldozer” and “Okemmuo” provides a strong foundation for the release.
